Opened in 2002, Otoko-no-Kimono was Japan's first specialty store for men's kimonos. We propose the "Motoji Style," which is committed to quality materials and the pursuit of superior craftsmanship. From simple kimono that are easy to wear for beginners, to masterpieces that will impress those with the most discerning tastes and sensibilities, we offer a wide range of items to catering to the aesthetic preferences of all men. We also continually create original pieces through collaborations with artisans and producers from all over the country.
In the center of the store, you'll find a large table made of Japanese horse chestnut. We are committed to using natural materials such as wood, stone, and paper, creating a space where you can feel the warmth of nature
We were the first in the industry to introduce a “basting" service, where the half-sewn kimono is worn and adjusted for size. Basting and adjusting the kimono ensures that we can offer meticulously tailored kimono that fit the wearer's body beautifully and comfortably.
Our collection features a wide variety of unique Tsumugi and Omeshi kimono from all over Japan. From simple items suited for beginners to rare, elusive masterpieces, our popular items also include artistically unique obi and accessories such as haori-himo.
Our biannual original Men’s collection, led by creative director Keita Motoji, proposes stylish and contemporary kimono for all. These collections are often inspired by the past while looking forward toward the future.
We also offer kimono classes , covering everything from the dressing to the maintenance of your kimono. Please feel free to join, even if it is your first time.
